Notes from Northeast Animal Rescue

Our website is updated dailyIf you have previously adopted from NAR, send an email to narcats@gmail.com. We keep all applications on file, there is no need to fill out another. Belle is a tiny Roborovski hamster with a big spirit and an even bigger story. At just about 8 months old, she was heartbreakingly abandoned outside the Philadelphia Animal Control building, but she’s safe now and ready for a fresh start. This little girl is quick, curious, and full of personality. While she can be handled, Belle will do best with an experienced adopter who understands the unique needs and speed of Roborovski hamsters. With patience and the right approach, she’ll continue to grow in confidence. Belle is looking for a home that can provide a proper, enriching habitat (proof required) where she can explore, burrow, and thrive. If you’re experienced and ready to give a tiny survivor the life she deserves, Belle is waiting for you. Proof of proper habitat and supplies a must. Nocturnal and crepuscular: This hamster is most active during the evening and early morning hours, making it a great companion for those who are awake during those times. Very active: Expect your new friend to be highly energetic and playful, especially during its peak activity periods. A hamster wheel, tunnels, and toys will keep it entertained and help it burn off energy. Experienced handler: Due to its energetic nature and occasional nipping, this hamster would thrive in a home with an experienced pet owner who understands its behavior and needs.

What happens next

  1. Contact Northeast Animal Rescue using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Northeast Animal Rescue, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the small pets care guide so you arrive prepared.
