Brownie and Cheech are an adorable bonded pair of male gerbils looking for a home where their creativity and curiosity can truly shine. These two are tiny engineers at heart and spend much of their day doing what gerbils do best — building an elaborate underground tunnel system entirely of their own design.

Give them bedding, cardboard, ramps, and enrichment, and they immediately get to work constructing what can only be described as their own miniature city. They carefully burrow, rearrange supports beneath the bedding, and create an impressive network of tunnels that they continuously modify and improve throughout the day.

When they’re not busy with construction projects, Brownie and Cheech enjoy taking sand baths to keep their coats clean and healthy, shredding cardboard and wood toys, and occasionally showing off their speed with a quick run on their wheel.

Gerbils are naturally clean animals and are known for producing very little odor compared to many small pets. Unlike some rodents, they are excellent self-groomers and use sand baths rather than water to keep themselves clean. With proper care, gerbils typically live 3–5 years, making them wonderful companions for someone looking for small pets with big personalities.

Brownie and Cheech are social little guys who thrive with companionship, which is why they must be adopted together. Watching them work as a team to redesign their habitat is half the fun — and it’s clear these boys have opinions about interior decorating.

These two would do best with adopters who enjoy observing natural behaviors and creating enriching environments where their instincts to dig, burrow, chew, and explore can thrive.

Bonded pair — must stay together Expert tunnel architects and master excavators Love deep bedding and burrowing enrichment Enjoy sand baths and natural chewing activities Low odor and naturally clean animals Life expectancy: approximately 3–5 years Endless entertainment packed into two tiny bodies

If you’re looking for small pets with fascinating behaviors, nonstop curiosity, and a love for redecorating their world one tunnel at a time, Brownie and Cheech may be the perfect pair for you.
