Notes from Beaver County Humane Society

Say hello to Fontina, a sweet bunny girl looking for a family to call her own! Fontina arrived at the shelter with several siblings, and we suspect these little bunnies may have been dumped. We may never know how they ended up on their own, but we know Fontina deserves a future filled with safety, comfort, and love. Fontina is still waiting for her happily-ever-after, and she's hoping someone will see just how special she is! Like any bunny, she'll need a safe space to call her own, plenty of room to hop around, fun enrichment to keep her curious mind busy, and a family willing to let her settle in at her own pace. Bunnies may be small, but they have big personalities and special needs! Fontina is looking for someone who understands that being a great bunny parent means more than offering a few carrots. She deserves a proper bunny setup, tasty greens and hay, fun things to explore, and a patient person who will help her feel safe and secure. Fontina didn't choose to start her story in a shelter, but you could help her write a much happier ending! Could this sweet girl be the missing ingredient in your family? She's ready for a fresh start and a home of her very own! The advantages of adopting a rabbit Shelter rabbits are already spay/neutered and microchipped. Your rabbit will have less destructive and territorial behaviors as a result. Rabbits live for 8 to 10 years. That’s a lot of time to enjoy snuggles and funny tricks. An adopted rabbit may be already socialized to people or may need a little help from you. You join an active rabbit rescue community! There is a lot of support available to help you with any type of question you might have. How to prepare your home for your new rabbit A large play pen, bunny proofed room, or a large dog crate make great bunny housing. Once fully litter trained, some bunnies may have free run of their home! A typical daily rabbit diet is unlimited hay, good quality rabbit pellets, fresh greens, and plenty of clean water. Toys! Rabbits love to play. You should provide lots of bunny safe toys for play and chewing activities. Adoption Fee: $50.00Our bunnies are for indoors only. Adoption includes their neuter and microchip.
