Rupert
Horse / Thoroughbred · Adult · Male · X-Large · Salinas, CA
Notes from The SPCA for Monterey County
Rupert is a handsome 16.2-hand Thoroughbred gelding with a sweet personality and a big, goofy heart. With only a few starts on the racetrack, Rupert quickly showed that the racing life wasn't really his calling-and we think he has something much better waiting for him. Rupert came to the SPCA as an owner surrender. He arrived emaciated and with very little experience with the world outside of racing. With time, care, and plenty of TLC, Rupert has made an incredible transformation. Today, he is happy, healthy, and ready to start the next chapter of his life. Rupert is very sweet, goofy, and full of baby energy. He is still learning about life and sometimes acts like the big horse he is hasn't quite figured out how big he actually is! He recently spent time with a trainer working on his ground manners and continuing to learn the basics. Rupert may not have been destined to be a racehorse, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a bright future ahead of him. He is looking for someone who will enjoy helping him continue to learn, grow, and discover what life has to offer beyond the racetrack. If you're looking for a sweet, fun-loving Thoroughbred with plenty of personality and a fresh start ahead of him, Rupert just might be your guy! Please feel free to contact the Barn staff with any further questions. If you would like to meet Rupert, please complete the SPCA horse adoption application at www. SPCAmc.org/horse. Once your application has been received, our Barn staff will contact you to schedule an appointment. Please note that Rupert is not currently housed at the SPCA, so appointments are required in order to meet him.
