Notes from Regional Animal Services of King County

Hello! My name is Hoss. I came to the shelter as a stray and now I'm looking for my new home!

I am a very smart dog! At the shelter I am practicing how to ["sit", "stay", "come", "down" and "shake".]

I am an affectionate lovebug who would be thrilled to cuddle up with you at home! I would do best in a home with older children due to my size. I am an extra large dog, weighing 118lbs.

I will need to find a home where someone is available for me in these early days. I am not crate trained yet and teaching me those skills will help tremendously on a road to success!

I am a Rottweiler! My breed is known as a guardian-type breed. This means I may require formal introductions to new people or animals who come to my home, and it may take time for me to accept them. My new family should be prepared to help me understand when to be alert and when to relax. Time and consistency are the keys to forming good habits!

What happens next

  1. Contact Regional Animal Services of King County using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Regional Animal Services of King County, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
