Notes from The Alternative Humane Society of Whatcom County

Meet Gidget — a little senior sweetheart with so much love left to give. At 13 years young and around 19 pounds, Gidget is proof that the best things in life come in small, senior packages. This sweet, well-mannered little lady has a calm, gentle personality and would love nothing more than a cozy home where she can enjoy her golden years surrounded by love. Gidget is: Potty trained A great car rider Wonderful with other dogs Happy to go for walks A professional bedtime snuggler who sleeps peacefully on her blanket all night A big fan of sunbathing and lounging in a comfy chair Playful, sweet, and very treat motivated Absolutely obsessed with belly rubs — her favorite thing EVER!Gidget is a quiet girl with a calm demeanor. She can be a little reserved and cautious if someone approaches her too quickly, so she appreciates gentle introductions and a little time to get comfortable. Once she knows she’s safe, she has plenty of sweetness to share. She’s also very food-motivated and wonderfully observant — this girl likes to know what’s happening around her! There is something especially precious about giving a senior dog the peaceful, loving home they deserve. Gidget may have a few more gray hairs and a little more wisdom than a puppy, but she still has playful moments, a love for walks, a passion for belly rubs, and so much companionship to give. If you think Gidget could be your girl, please fill out a Statement of Interest on the Alternative Humane Society website.
