Meet Lilo — A Spirited, Sweet Alaskan Malamute Mix Ready for Her Forever Family
Lilo is the kind of puppy who steals hearts without even trying. This adorable little girl may be a mixed breed, but she proudly sports the classic Malamute mask, big fluffy paws, and that bold, joyful personality Malamutes are known for.
Lilo and her littermates were found in Eastern Washington before being brought into loving foster homes. Although someone docked their tails before rescue, these pups haven’t let that dim their spirits. Lilo is healthy, happy, and bursting with energy.
Lilo is still growing into herself — physically, mentally, and socially. She’s affectionate to her core, leaning her whole body into you for love, sometimes forgetting she’s not a tiny puppy anymore. One minute she’s bouncing around with her toys like she’s starring in her own action film, and the next she’s passed out cold with her stuffed Lambchop tucked under her chin. She’s a whirlwind of energy followed by the sweetest naps.
Teenager Energy Meets Real Progress
Despite her youthful exuberance, Lilo has already made impressive strides in her foster home. She’s learning, she’s trying, and she’s proud of herself when she gets it right.
Here’s what she’s mastered so far:
Fully crate trained
Mostly housebroken
Working on leash manners (she’s enthusiastic, but improving every week)
Affectionate with her humans and the pets she knows
She knows several commands, too:
Sit
Stop (unless a bunny appears — she’s still a Malamute)
“Good night” sends her straight into her crate to wait politely for her treat
She’s used to early mornings and will whine when she needs to go out. She thrives on routine and predictability — classic teenager behavior.
Training in Progress — and She’s Worth Every Minute
Lilo will need an adopter with patience, time, and a sense of humor. She’s currently working on:
Not jumping on people when they walk through the door
Managing her excitement when she wants immediate attention
Building confidence so she doesn’t try to run back home if off‑leash
Because of this, she must remain on‑leash unless she’s in a fully fenced‑in yard or secure area. She’s loyal, but she’s also young and impulsive — she needs structure to stay safe.
A Toy Lover With Endless Curiosity
Her favorite things include:
Balls
Moving toys
Anything that squeaks or makes noise
Laser pointers
Her beloved stuffed Lambchop
She plays hard, sleeps hard, and loves having something to do. She’s happiest in a home where she can burn off energy and then settle in for cuddles.
A Heart Full of Love, Waiting for the Right Match
Lilo is young, energetic, affectionate, and full of potential. She’s a teenager in dog form — goofy, loving, occasionally dramatic, and always worth the effort. If you’re ready to invest time and patience into a dog who will reward you with loyalty, laughter, and endless affection, Lilo is waiting to meet you.
