Notes from Community Animal Welfare Society

Meet Sox! ☀️Sox is a 1-year-old Corgi mix with a big personality packed into a tiny 8–10 lb body! This curious, fun-loving little guy is ready to find a home where he can soak up the sunshine, play with other dogs, and be someone’s beloved companion. Sox loves playing with his foster’s dogs, chasing a ball, earning treats, and lounging in a sunny spot. He’s also got a funny side—he likes to perch on the back of the couch like a cat! His expressive ears are always giving away what he’s thinking, and his curiosity makes him a joy to watch. Sox is friendly with other dogs, does well with cats, and is great with children. He sleeps quietly in his crate all night, rides well in the car, and comes when called. He’s very treat-motivated and is working on learning commands like “sit.” He may bark when someone enters the house, but he’s already making progress with that. One important thing to know about Sox: he submissively pees when he gets excited, nervous, or feels unsure. Although he is generally house-trained, this happens in a variety of situations, so his new family will need patience, understanding, and a willingness to continue working with him as his confidence grows. With a gentle approach and positive reinforcement, he has so much potential to keep blossoming. Sox is a medium-energy pup who would likely adapt well to a variety of homes. Whether he has furry siblings or gets all the attention himself, what matters most is finding someone who will help him feel safe, loved, and confident. If you’re looking for a sweet, silly little sidekick with curious eyes, expressive ears, and lots of love to give, Sox might just be your guy! Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200.
