Notes from Rescue Rovers Dog Adoptions

Hi! My name is Tally! I’m a 5-month-old, 25 lb, lab mix baby girl! I’m hefty, hefty, hefty and also “OH SO LOVING!” I was built to last! You wanna run? I got you! You wanna snuggle? I’m on my way! You wanna eat lots of food together? DONE!

I’m pretty awesome around other dogs! I’m still a puppy, so I throw my weight around like I’m tiny—even though I’m built a little more like a furry paperweight. My foster mom calls me “dense.” I prefer “sturdy,” but apparently she has the dictionary on her side. I’ve had four foster brothers, and I held my own with every one of them while having LOTS of fun! My favorite buddy is a 50 lb black lab, and together we rumble, tumble, and occasionally forget where one dog ends and the other begins! I LOVE TOYS! ALL TOYS!

You know how some humans go to the bathroom in herds? That’s me! I will only go #2 in the grass if I have moral support. You don’t have to stand next to me (don’t make it weird…) but I like the bathroom “pack” mentality. I got your back, and you got mine! I’m not needy, I’m cautious during vulnerability.

Listen, I’m smart, but I’ve got a lot on my tiny plate right now—and I’m still learning how to eat off an actual plate. I’m adjusting to life behind metal bars (apparently it’s called a “crate,” not “puppy jail”), discovering that food belongs in a bowl, learning that the floor is not a bathroom, and losing teeth like it’s my part-time job. A girl can only handle so much personal growth at once… and yet, I’m still as happy as can be!

I sleep through the night for a full eight hours now, but it took some practice—and several important meetings with management. I firmly believe we should sleep in the same place, and your space always looks suspiciously like the spot I was meant to occupy. Don’t worry, I’m happy to let you borrow the edge. However, around 7pm please know that you and I will need to snuggle up close while I fall into a nice puppy slumber on your chest.

I haven’t met a cat yet, so I can’t promise I’d know the proper etiquette right away. “Gentle” is still a work in progress—I currently prefer the enthusiastic, full-body approach to friendship—but with patient introductions and a little coaching, I bet I could learn! I’d probably love kids too, especially older ones who are sturdy, playful, and won’t mind that my affection sometimes arrives at puppy speed.

So if you’re looking for a companion that snuggles as much as she eats, let’s pencil me into your schedule! Apply to meet me here: https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication
