Notes from Animal Hope Pet Adoptions

If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment to visit with this animal, please email us at info@animalhope.org or call 817-984-1129 between 12 pm and 6 pm.

Squiggy is a 2 1/2-year-old brown Chihuahua weighing about 10 pounds. He and his brother, Lenny, were rescued off the streets of New Orleans. Their finder wanted to help them but was already at their pet limit, so the boys were transferred to us to find a safe, permanent home together.

Squiggy is in good health, just slightly underweight, and has been cleared by our veterinary team. He is very shy and standoffish at first, and he needs to know he's safe before he begins to open up. Once he feels comfortable, his sweet nature shines through - and he has a silly, charming personality that comes out alongside his brother.

The adoption fee for the bonded pair is $400.

Because we don't observe our animals in home settings, we aren't able to guarantee whether he is housebroken.

Upon intake, every animal receives:

Spay/neuter surgery

Microchip

All age-appropriate vaccinations

Blood and fecal testing (with treatment if needed)

Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention

A complimentary wellness exam 7-10 days after adoption

Adopters must be at least 21 years old and live within an hour of our facility.

If you'd like to meet Squiggy, we'd be happy to help. He's a tender, timid little Chihuahua who's ready to blossom in a patient home - as long as he's with Lenny.

What happens next

  1. Contact Animal Hope Pet Adoptions using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Animal Hope Pet Adoptions, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
