Notes from Fort Bend County Animal Services

Meet Hope! She’s a gorgeous German Shepherd who was found alongside Havoc A054724. Hope had a microchip, but sadly their family never reclaimed them. Now, she’s ready for a fresh start with a family who will always love her! Hope is easy to leash up, and easy to handle on leash. We think she may be potty trained, and she’s mastered both sitting and laying on command. She’ll hold both positions for quite a while if needed to earn her reward! She’s both treat and toy motivated, and always has great focus. Hope has a medium energy level, and her playful side is fun to watch! She has plenty of enthusiasm when something catches her attention. She’ll entertain herself with a squeaky toy for a bit, and she also enjoys watching what’s going on around her. While she's more interested in treats, toys, and exploring than sitting still for a petting session, she has plenty of wonderful qualities to offer her future family. Hope has also done well meeting other dogs in shelter playgroups. When she came in, her right eye was enlarged, and it’s clear she can’t see out of it. She has been evaluated by our veterinary team and is thankfully not showing signs of pain or discomfort with that eye. Medications were tried, but were discontinued after she showed no noticeable improvement. That eye may not work very well, but it doesn’t hold her back! She still knows how to enjoy the important things: toys and treats!! If you're looking for a smart, well mannered girl with a playful streak and a curious nature, come meet Hope! She deserves a chance to enjoy her next chapter with someone who sees all the wonderful things she has to offer.
