Notes from Fort Bend County Animal Services
Elrick is the definition of happy go lucky! This handsome 3YO German Shepherd mix weighs about 50 pounds and has an easygoing personality that makes him such a joy to be around. He's friendly, sweet, and perfectly content to enjoy life at his own pace! Elrick is a lower energy gentleman who appreciates the simple things in life. He's happy to leisurely stroll around, sniffing and exploring whatever catches his interest. He walks nicely on leash with very little pulling, and while he's perfectly happy doing his own thing, he also loves some quality time with his people! He'll stand calmly by your side and soak up all the pets you're willing to give him. Elrick takes treats gently from your hand, though he hasn't quite mastered any tricks yet. He's also still figuring out what all the fuss is about with toys. He'll happily investigate one when you throw it, but playing with it is another story! He does have a funny way of getting comfortable – he’s always ready to invite himself up into any chair! We think he likes that it puts him on a more even level with you so that you can pet him better. Elrick has attended in shelter play groups and show that he has a preference for submissive, female dogs. That’s who he gets along with best. You’re always welcome to bring your dog in to meet him to see if they’d be a good match for each other. With his calm nature, independent streak, and affectionate side, he makes a great companion without being demanding. He's just a sweet, laid-back guy looking for someone to share the good life with!
