Notes from Fort Bend County Animal Services

Kong is back, and he's brought a little extra love (aka, a little extra weight!) with him. He’s still one of the most unique looking dogs around: he’s got the solid build of a Staffordshire, but with the scruffy fur of a Wire-Haired Terrier. This handsome boy was adopted from us about seven months ago, but sadly, he's found himself back at the shelter through no fault of his own. His owner surrendered him and his friends Roxie A048380 and Rocko A048381 due to their housing. Kong came back to us nearly 40 lbs heavier when he left, and could use a little help getting back to a healthier weight. Kong is hoping his second turn with us will lead to a forever home. Personality wise, Kong is as easygoing as they come! He's a calm, gentle, low energy gentleman who walks beautifully on leash without pulling. He's perfectly content strolling around, sniffing the sights, and enjoying life at his own pace. He's happy to stop for some affection, but he's also happy to amuse himself and doesn’t need constant attention. While he used to enjoy playing fetch, these days he's more interested in taking it easy than chasing toys. Kong also comes with some great house manners! His previous family reports that he's housebroken, kennel trained, and leash trained. They also say he's good with kids and other dogs. With his unforgettable looks, gentle personality, and laid-back attitude, he's got so much to offer. All he needs now is someone to give this scruffy sweetheart another chance!
