Notes from Dallas Animal Services

Lillibet is a dog who has been diagnosed with spondylosis of the lumbar spine, bilateral hip dysplasia, and osteoarthritis affecting both stifle (knee) joints. These conditions may contribute to chronic pain, stiffness, reduced mobility, and difficulty with everyday activities. Lillibet requires ongoing veterinary care, appropriate pain management, and a long-term treatment plan to help manage her conditions and maintain her comfort and quality of life. The specialized and continued medical care she needs exceeds what we can consistently provide in the shelter environment. Despite her medical challenges, Lillibet deserves a safe, compassionate home where her needs can be understood and supported. She needs a placement where she can receive continued veterinary evaluation, appropriate pain management, and supportive care tailored to her mobility needs. A dedicated adopter, foster, or rescue can help provide the comfort, patience, and ongoing care she needs to enjoy the best possible quality of life. Lillibet is at risk for euthanasia due to medical concerns beyond our scope of care. If you are interested in adopting, fostering, or rescuing Lillibet, please email dasadopt@dallas.gov. When emailing, please include a callback number.

  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Dallas Animal Services, never to AdoptNearby.
