APPLICATION REQUIRED from www.dashdog.org Adoption Fee $450 - the fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE and is not specific for any dog or puppy; it goes to the expenses of the organization as a whole* OUR APPLICATION IS ON www.dashdog.org and must be completed in order to set up a meeting. Our listed dogs ARE READY IMMEDIATELY; we only meet with families WHO ARE READY TO ADOPT! IF YOU APPLY and if WE APPROVE YOU it means we are assuming when you meet any of our dogs and fall in love you're ready to ADOPT AND HIM OR HER HOME! Cuddly Cute Colby Meet Colby! A Sweet, Gentle Aussie boy loving his suburban life! Colby is a beautiful, sweet, small-standard male Australian Shepherd; he has a very easygoing disposition and gentle demeanor. Colby comes from a litter of 7 dogs whose owner, a breeder, passed away. When the family reached out DASH was happy to help! Colby had a wonderful Adopter set up, but on the day of his adoption, his new owner learned that his work schedule was completely shifting, and we all agreed it wouldn’t be a good time to add a young dog to his home. So we are looking again for an Aussie-experienced home for Colby. Ideally, if there are children, they would be over 10 years old and have Aussie Experience. The best home would have a male or female dog, who is also young and active, to play with and to have as a Canine Companion. Colby has a sweet, playful, goofy personality that has really come out since his sisters were adopted! He loves playing with the other dog in his foster home and for an Aussie has a very moderate energy level. Colby absolutely loves being outside, but usually when there’s another dog or a human that will play with him. Colby has just discovered fetching retrieving returning a tennis ball or similar and dropping it to be thrown again - but if he doesn’t get the ball first, then he’ll just run around and play with the dog who has it Colby has realized that life inside the house is pretty wonderful. These days, you’ll often find him lounging comfortably on the floor right beside the couch. He really likes being close to his people. Colby is gentle, he is very affectionate and inquisitive and has an easygoing nature. Colby with Kids Colby has been remarkably patient and gentle with his foster family’s 5- and 7-year-old boys, as well as their young cousins. He has handled all of the activity and attention beautifully. The children are all experienced with larger herding dogs. Colby with Other Dogs Colby would do very well with a sister - he had 4 that we know of Having another dog around seems to help Colby feel more secure. When he sees other dogs he wants to play and socialize. He clearly enjoys canine companionship and quickly showed his fun-loving side. Colby in the Home Colby enjoys relaxing near his people and will happily follow you from room to room. He doesn’t need to be the center of attention—he just wants to be part of the family. Colby is such a rewarding boy to watch blossom. The shy pup who arrived is quickly becoming a sweet, goofy, playful companion who is learning that he can trust the people around him. We think Colby is going to make a wonderful, loyal family member for the lucky people who give him the chance to continue coming out of his shell. ❤️ To set a meeting to adopt Colby please complete the application on our website below: www.dashdog.org Then TEXT SARA:214-549-9905 So I can check your application and get back to you! General Info - PLEASE READ! *Our $450 adoption fee is based on the cost of rescuing, transporting and vetting each dog; we do not try to compete on prices with municipal shelters whose funds are paid by the city. Our philosophy is to rescue highly adoptable dogs, have them live kennel-free in private homes for temperament assessments and individual personalities. We work hard to match EACH dog with the right family - kids or no kids, other dogs male or female and/or cats. With very rare exceptions all dogs over 6 months will be spayed or neutered PRIOR to adoption - dogs under 6 months will include a spay/neuter date AND referral info for lower-cost surgery if the adopter does not choose to use her or his personal vet. OUR VETS WILL NOT PERFORM SPAY NEUTER SURGERIES UNTIL DOG IS 6 MONTHS OLD. Freeman Farm COLEMAN We are working with a family, whose patriarch/grandfather passed away; he had two separate litters of puppies arranging age from about 9 to 10 months. Each one needs a great home, a dog-buddy/can on Companion to play with and owners who are educating experienced with Australian shepherds These babies are gentle and sweet! 2 have already been adopted and 1 other female is in a foster home They are ready for ADOPTION - but we’re also looking for two or three very, very short-term foster homes so we can bring the remaining dogs to the metroplex! As of tomorrow all the pups will have been to vet for exams, shots, Heartworm tests, chips etc; we will work out spays & neuters with the Adopters. Right now we just want them to be able to be living inside and decompressing…. Although the first three took to suburbia like they’ve lived here all of their lives! they are not-surprisingly enjoying indoor living, comfy couches and air-conditioning! If you’ve been looking for a young Australian Shepherd that has moderate energy, is eager to please and is completely ready to be loved and spoiled you’ve found the right group! If you’re interested in meeting one of the dogs for adoption please complete our application on the website below: www.dashdog.org Then TEXT SARA: 214-549-9905 So I can have somebody check your application and get back to you! THANK YOU!
