Notes from Texarkana Animal League

Dexter is a super sweet, smart boy that is friendly and outgoing and walks well on a leash and rides well in a car. He loves to be with his people and play with other dogs or his toys. He is housebroken and knows several commands. He learns quickly and would make a great addition to any family. He gets along well with other dogs and doesn't mind cats either. He's just a very good dog!

All of our adoptable animals are up to date on routine vaccinations, microchipped and spayed or neutered. If the animal is too young a certificate for the spay/neuter is included in the adoption fee. Please Click Here to complete our online adoption application.

We are open to the public from 10 AM to 3 PM on the first three Saturdays of every month, unless otherwise noted on our website or Facebook page. Private appointments to visit and meet the animals can be scheduled with an approved application. For any questions about one of our precious animals, or to set up an appointment after you've submitted your application, please call us at (903) 949-6278.

Texarkana Animal League is a 501c3 non-profit and all donations are tax deductible.

What happens next

  1. Contact Texarkana Animal League using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Texarkana Animal League, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
