Notes from San Antonio Animal Care Services

?? Meet Layla! ??Layla is around a year old and is quite possibly one of the sweetest girls you’ll ever meet. She absolutely loves to be loved and has so much love of her own to give. Layla has the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. Some days she’s perfectly content curling up at the end of the bed and relaxing with her people, and other times she’s ready to run around and play with the cats or our older dog, Gracie. She has adjusted wonderfully to living with other animals, and I truly think she would thrive in a home with other dogs or cats to keep her company. She also has a very special relationship with my youngest daughter, Presleigh. ?? Layla loves curling up beside her while she watches her tablet, and seeing how comfortable and gentle she is with her has been one of my favorite things about fostering her. Because of how well she has done with my daughter, I think Layla would make an especially wonderful addition to a family with children. She’s also a smart girl who has already figured out how to tell us when she wants to go outside. We have a blue chair next to the door leading to the backyard, and when Layla wants out, she hops right onto her chair and sits like a good girl waiting for someone to come put her leash on. ????Her energy level varies depending on the moment—she can happily settle in for cuddles and quiet family time, but she’s just as happy getting up to play and have some fun. More than anything, Layla wants to be included and loved. I think Layla would thrive with a family that has time to give her the attention and affection she deserves. A home with children and/or other pets would be a wonderful fit for her. She has so much personality, sweetness, and love packed into that little brindle body. Layla isn't looking for anything complicated. She just needs a family to love her, play with her, let her snuggle close, and give her a place where she knows she belongs. Whoever gets to call this sweet girl theirs is going to be very lucky. ????
