Notes from Scout's Honor Rescue

Sweet Jasmine’s story is one we wish we didn’t hear so often. She found herself at Harris County Pets and landed on the long-stay list, where time was running out.

We spotted her during a shelter pull, but with so many lives to save and not enough hours in the day, we had to leave without meeting her. We couldn’t stop thinking about Jasmine, so first thing Sunday morning, we went back.

We hoped she’d be as wonderful as we imagined. To be sure, we introduced her to another dog we planned to save, and Jasmine passed with flying colors. No surprise there!

Jasmine is a people girl through and through. Her favorite place is as close to you as possible, preferably curled up in your lap, soaking in all the love and attention. She has a gentle, affectionate nature that makes it easy to fall for her.

Jasmine is dog-friendly and enjoys playtime, including with younger, high-energy dogs. She also loves cuddles and being close to her people. With her sweet, easygoing personality, she could be a wonderful fit for just about any loving home.

She’s settling in beautifully, discovering the safety and kindness she deserves. Now she just needs a foster or forever family to make her happy ending complete.

What happens next

  1. Contact Scout's Honor Rescue using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Scout's Honor Rescue, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
