Notes from Scout's Honor Rescue

Meet Selma—the big, goofy girl who just wants to be close to you.

Formerly known as Indara at Harris County Pets, Selma is beginning a new chapter with Scout’s Honor. She shared a kennel with our sweet Patty and showed us what a kind, loving girl she is.

The shelter estimates Selma is around 6 years old, though we think she may be a little younger. Whatever her age, she has plenty of love to give—and she’d make a wonderful couch buddy. Selma may be a big girl, but her favorite place is right beside her person.

She can be a little unsure at first and may need a moment to take in a new situation. With patient guidance and a little reassurance, her loving, goofy personality shines through. Selma is dog-friendly and could enjoy a canine companion; she likes a little time to figure out a new dog’s play style before she settles in.

Selma deserves a home where she can feel safe, loved, and close to her people. Could you be the one to give this sweet girl her fresh start? Please consider fostering or adopting her.

Visit scoutshonor.org to apply. Scout’s Honor covers all expenses associated with fostering.

What happens next

  1. Contact Scout's Honor Rescue using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Scout's Honor Rescue, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
