Notes from Scout's Honor Rescue

Meet Taz!

Don’t let his size fool you—Taz has enough personality packed into his little body for a dog twice his size! This handsome terrier mix was pulled from Harris County alongside his kennel buddy, Mac, during our recent shelter rescue mission, and we’re so glad he’s finally getting his chance to shine.

At around 2 years old, Taz is the perfect mix of fun and laid-back. He’s a sweet little guy who carries himself like a big dog, but deep down he just wants to be loved and included in all of life’s adventures. Whether it’s hanging out on the couch, going for a walk, or simply being your sidekick, Taz is happy just being part of the family.

So far, Taz has shown us that he’s a pretty chill dude with a heart of gold. He’s the kind of dog who will quietly steal your heart and become your best friend before you even realize it.

Now all this little guy needs is a foster or forever home where he can be spoiled the way he deserves.

Could Taz be your new best friend? Fill out an application to foster or adopt and give this sweet boy the happy ending he’s been waiting for!

Can't adopt right now? Scout's Honor Rescue is looking for a foster home for Taz. Fostering is short-term, and the rescue usually covers food and vet care. Ask them about it.

What happens next

  1. Contact Scout's Honor Rescue using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Scout's Honor Rescue, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
