Notes from Operation Pets Alive

Meet Sweet Sequoia!

Sequoia and her sister, Maple, were rescued from a difficult situation in Spring a few months ago. Both girls had recently raised litters of puppies and were heartworm positive. Their puppies have since found homes, and Sequoia and Maple have completed their heartworm treatment. Now it’s finally their turn to find families of their own. ❤️

Sequoia is an incredibly sweet girl who can be a little shy at first, but give her a few hours and you’ll see her adorable personality start to shine. She loves showing off her belly for rubs and happily rolls around in the grass scratching her back.

She also enjoys playing with other dogs and is currently being very well cared for by our friends at Houndstown while she waits for a home.

Sequoia is looking for either a foster home or a forever family. After raising her puppies and overcoming heartworms, this sweet mama deserves a home where she can finally be the one who is spoiled.

Could you be Sequoia’s foster or forever family?

Can't adopt right now? Operation Pets Alive is looking for a foster home for Sequoia. Fostering is short-term, and the rescue usually covers food and vet care. Ask them about it.

What happens next

  1. Contact Operation Pets Alive using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Operation Pets Alive, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
