Meet Blue

Blue came to rescue as part of a hoarding case involving more than 30 Chihuahuas. Thankfully, he was given a chance at a better life, and now he is waiting for someone special to give him the forever home he deserves. Blue and one other Chihuahua are the only two from the case still waiting to be adopted.

Blue can be cautious and shy when meeting new people, so he may not be the kind of dog who runs right up to greet you. But don't let that discourage you! This boy is very treat-motivated, and with a little time, patience, and kindness, he will eventually warm up. He needs a patient and understanding home that will let him settle in at his own pace without expecting too much too soon.

Blue gets along well with other dogs and may enjoy having a canine companion to help him feel comfortable. We are unsure how he does with cats. He walks pretty well on a leash, although he may need an occasional correction and some continued guidance.

He has also attended a few of our adoption events and has done great! We are so proud of the progress he has made, and we know that with the right person, he can continue to build confidence and learn that the world isn't such a scary place.

Blue will do best with someone who understands that shy dogs need time to trust. He may take a little longer to show his personality.

Blue is neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped, and current on vaccines. He is also current on ProHeart 12 for heartworm prevention and Bravecto for flea and tick prevention.

His adoption fee is $200.

Blue is currently in Texas but can travel to Washington, Portland, Oregon, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, Kentucky, and locations along the East Coast. If transportation is needed, there is an additional $250 transport fee. Due to state regulations, dogs cannot travel to Rhode Island or Massachusetts.
