Notes from SPCA PETS SNAP of Montgomery County
This sweet-natured and friendly 33 lb guy named "Axl" suddenly finds himself in need of a new family to love. Axl's story begins sadly common, when he was rescued as a puppy along with two siblings from some very rough living conditions. When he received his routine veterinary exam, Axl was found to have a potentially lethal congenital heart defect called Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA). But then an amazing fund-raising effort led to corrective surgery at Texas A&M, and Axl's been living a perfectly healthy life ever since. However, the family who adopted him as a puppy could no longer keep him due to personal circumstances, so they sadly returned him to our rescue group. Axl has invented several cute tricks such as carrying his leash in his mouth on walks and learned some basic obedience commands. One of his favorite play friends was a cat who lived in the same home, and he gets along with other dogs as long as they aren't "over the top" behavior-wise. Perhaps you can tell what an affectionate, charming and somewhat goofy canine personality Axl has from his photos. He seems to be doing well in his foster home and is now ready to continue his adventure with a new family. As with all our rescue dogs, Axl is neutered and up to date on vaccinations, worming, flea control and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is only $125 which includes a LIFETIME microchip registration with HomeAgain. If you'd love to claim this very special canine and medical-miracle for your own, please click on the green arrow icon near the top of the page to submit an online adoption application (no cost or obligation). Thanks for thinking rescue--again!
