Notes from Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue

Meet Vienna! Vienna is a sweet, sensitive girl who is looking for a patient and understanding home where she can continue learning that she is safe and loved. She has already made wonderful progress in her foster home, but she is still working through some of her fears. Vienna has moments when her personality really shines. She’ll play in the living room, wag her tail, give kisses, and happily jump on the bed with her foster and the other dogs. Then something may suddenly make her unsure, and she can become fearful and retreat or avoid being approached. Sometimes it seems like she simply forgets for a moment that she is safe. Because Vienna is still learning to trust, she may run away from someone approaching her and does not yet reliably come when called. Even in a fenced yard, her new family will need to keep her safely leashed or on a drag line while she adjusts rather than expecting her to come when called. She needs someone who understands that building trust takes time and won’t rush her. Vienna would greatly benefit from having another confident dog in the home. Having a canine friend helps show her the ropes and gives her reassurance as she learns what life in a loving home is all about. Vienna isn’t the dog who will necessarily walk through the door and immediately feel at home. She needs someone willing to celebrate the little victories and give her the time and space to come to them on her own. For the right person, watching this shy girl continue to blossom will be incredibly rewarding.
