Notes from Paws Across Pittsburgh
Meet Pickles! Are you looking for a dog you can take anywhere and introduce to anyone? If so, Pickles is your girl! Pickles is a 3 year old shepherd mix, the perfect age if you’re looking for a companion that’s past the insane puppy period but still has so much left to give. Pickles loves to go for a walk, to learn new tricks, and playing with toys, but she also LOVES to cuddle on the couch for hours. Pickles has never met a human she didn’t love. Though there aren’t any children living in her foster home, we’re confident she would do wonderfully with them. She’s gentle, patient, and adores attention. She walks well on a leash when in a harness and takes treats very carefully. Pickles previously lived with another dog and does great with them in passing, but doesn’t live with them in her foster home. She currently lives with cats, and does okay with them in general, but can be protective of her favorite things. She’s been working on it and improving a lot, and she has NO issues sharing all of her favorite things with people! Pickles is fully potty trained and crate trained in her foster home. She shows signs of separation anxiety, but is improving with medication and is taking to training well. Unfortunately, her previous owner passed away and she spent several weeks in a shelter before coming to Paws, so we think she became a little insecure during this and worries she’s going to lose her people again. She’ll do best in a home with someone who wants to spend a lot of time together and where she won’t be crated routinely for long periods of time. A patient, loving hand would go a long way to helping her build confidence and become comfortable with being alone, and with knowing someone is coming home to her. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle, loving, and overall amazing dog, please apply for Pickles at pawsacrosspittsburgh.com. She’s so excited to meet you and be your new best friend! Pickles will be available for adoption and to go home starting November 1st, but we’re accepting applications starting today!
