Notes from Homeward Bound Animal Rescue

Meet Rainey one of our Momma Dogs.

Rainey has been wonderful so far! She knows sit and down, settles in for cuddles, and walks pretty well on a leash. She is house trained. She is a counter surfer (We're working on it) and has opened the toilet lid to get a drink. (That was a first!) She's still in the recovery time from her HW treatment, but she will eventually love long walks and playing with toys. For now she enjoys a good bone and being with her people. She's good with kids and other dogs.

If you don't have an approved adoption application and want to be considered for them. You will want to apply online at http://homewardbound2u.rescuegroups.org (our application does not load well on phones. You should do this on a tablet or computer.). If you are already approved, you can email the foster mom at jlprowant@gmail.com . Let her know what name and email address your application is filed under. Do not schedule a meeting to see the puppy unless everyone in your home is agreed to get a puppy, that you are prepared to complete the adoption and take the puppy home if everyone agrees that it is a match.

What happens next

  1. Contact Homeward Bound Animal Rescue using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Homeward Bound Animal Rescue, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
