Amelia

Introducing Amelia — The Miracle Pocket Pitty! Some of you may already know Amelia from our Facebook posts. This little girl came to us in dire straits, having suffered the effects of multiple stab wounds and a severe beating. An infection followed suit. It was touch and go for a while, but Amelia rallied, fought the infection — with the help of medical professionals and dedicated staff — and won the fight. Her many stab wounds have healed, the fur is growing over the scars, and perhaps most importantly her resilient spirit has allowed her to trust in the humans surrounding her and move on from what was a deplorable lot in life. Our dear little friend has emerged completely from her ordeal as the beloved shelter spitfire! She enjoys her playtime and walks and is good on leash except for dog reactivity. Staff is working on that with her. She is best in a home without other animals. And let’s face it, after all she has been through she deserves a home where she can be spoiled and doted on for the rest of her life. Will you be the one to provide a safe landing place for little Amelia? To set up a meet & greet, you can contact HumaneCNY at (315) 457-8762 or info@humanecny.org; or stop in Monday through Saturday 12 through 4:30; or you can begin the adoption process for her right now by filling out an application on our website, www.humanecny.org. Contact HumaneCNY if interested in this animal. You can fill out application to adopt at the shelter.
