Notes from Last Chance Animal Rescue

From Hiding in the Woods to Dreaming of a Home… Meet Annabelle.

Meet Annabelle, a sweet 7-month-old pup with one blue eye, one brown eye, and a story that deserves the happiest ending.

Annabelle and her sister Penny were found living as strays, hiding in the woods and struggling to survive. They were frightened, unsure, and in need of help. Thankfully, our founder, Whitney, patiently earned their trust with gentle words and food, showing them that not every human would let them down.

Their little feet were swollen, infected, and painful. But with care and time, Annabelle has been healing, growing stronger, and discovering that the world can be a much kinder place than she once knew. And now? Her sweet personality is beginning to shine!

Annabelle is treat motivated, crate trained, housebroken, and eager for love. She's learning more every day, and her foster is helping her discover what it means to feel safe and cared for. Now, she's ready for the next big chapter: finding a forever family of her own.

There's some wonderful news: Here sister Penny has been adopted!

But now it's Annabelle's turn. She's safe in foster care, but what she really needs is a family to call her own — someone patient and loving who will continue showing her that she's safe and that she finally belongs.

And those eyes! In some Native American traditions, dogs with different-colored eyes have been associated with seeing both the earthly and spiritual worlds. We can't know what Annabelle sees when she looks out at the world, but we hope her future is filled with all the things she's been missing: safety, gentle hands, a cozy place to sleep, and someone who loves her unconditionally.

Annabelle has already shown so much strength for such a young girl. Now she deserves the chance to simply be a puppy — to play, to learn, to feel safe, and to grow up knowing she's home.

Could you be the person who shows this beautiful girl that her best days are still ahead of her?
