Notes from Regional SPCA

Meet Zeus! Zeus is a large, two-year-old pit mix with the biggest heart and an incredible love for his people. He is sweet, affectionate, and happiest when he is right by your side. Zeus doesn’t just enjoy human company — he truly needs it, and forms deep, meaningful bonds with those he trusts. He has a medium energy level and enjoys a balance of playtime and quiet time. At this time, Zeus needs to be the only dog in the home. He may be able to live with a dog-savvy cat with proper introductions and guidance. Zeus has severe separation anxiety and must have an adopter who is home most of the time. He would thrive in a home with someone who works from home, is retired, or otherwise has a lifestyle that allows them to be consistently present. Being with his person is what helps Zeus feel safe, calm, and secure. Ongoing support from a veterinarian and a professional trainer will be important as he continues to build confidence and work through his challenges. Zeus’s needs are significant, but so is his capacity for love. For the right person who can truly be there for him, Zeus will be an unbelievably loyal, devoted companion who gives his whole heart. What happens next

  1. Contact Regional SPCA using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Regional SPCA, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
