Notes from Pibbles & More Animal Rescue

At around 10 years young, Abby is truly just getting started.

Starting over as a senior isn’t easy, but Abby hasn't missed a single beat. She is the textbook definition of a turnkey companion—gentle, easygoing, and the kind of loyal shadow who settles right into the household rhythm.

At an easy 45 lbs, she’s fully house-trained, trustworthy with free roam, fantastic with kids, and an Olympic-level afternoon napper. She does well with other dogs with slow introductions (she just asks for a home without small dogs!). Abby is currently waiting in her Maine foster home for the forever family ready to love her for all the days ahead.

All of our animals receive comprehensive veterinary care prior to adoption, including a full exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, spay or neuter, heartworm testing, and any necessary medical treatment.

A vet reference, home and/or family visit, and an adoption fee are required.

Transport options are available within our operating region, including Pennsylvania, the tri-state area, and New England. We do not adopt animals to Canada. For more information or to submit an application, please visit www.pmarinc.org

What happens next

  1. Contact Pibbles & More Animal Rescue using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Pibbles & More Animal Rescue, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
