Notes from Last Chance Animal Rescue

Meet Beau: He's Got Energy to Spare and a Job to Do!

Some dogs are happy to snooze on the couch all day. Beau? Yeah… that's not his career path.

At about a year old and 50 pounds, this handsome cattle dog mix is a whole lot of energy, enthusiasm, and personality packed into one four-legged package. He loves his toys, loves to play, and is looking for someone who can give him the kind of life his busy brain and working-dog instincts are craving.

Think active adventures, games, training, and having a real job to do! A securely fenced yard where he can run and burn off energy is a must. He's still learning his leash manners, and he's going to need a patient, experienced person who understands that training takes consistency, time, and commitment. He's a work in progress, but with the right person in his corner, there's room for him to grow.

Now, let's talk about finding the right fit. ❤️

Beau is a young dog with lots of energy who is still learning how to navigate the world. He can be anxious, gets overexcited, jumps and pulls on leash, and is still figuring out personal space and boundaries. He is not suitable for a home with children.

We also don't know how he would do with cats, as he hasn't been cat tested.

So, who is the right person for Beau? Someone active, patient, and experienced with energetic working breeds. Someone who sees training as an ongoing commitment, enjoys giving a dog a purpose, and understands that progress takes time. He needs structure, outlets for his energy, and a person willing to help him learn and succeed.

Beau is looking for someone to give him a chance. ❤️ We're hoping to find either an adopter who is prepared to meet his needs or an experienced foster who can provide a safe, appropriate home while he continues his journey toward a forever family.

Could you be Beau's forever person? If you're an experienced dog owner with an active lifestyle, a securely fenced yard, and the patience to work with a young dog who needs guidance, we'd love to hear from you.

Not ready to adopt, but have the experience and space to foster? You could make an enormous difference in Beau's life. A suitable foster home would give him a safe place to land and the opportunity to keep learning while the rescue searches for his permanent family.

Beau may not be the right dog for everyone, but the right person could make a world of difference for him. He deserves a chance with someone who understands his needs, appreciates his playful spirit, and is willing to help him reach his potential.

Can't adopt or foster? PLEASE SHARE BEAU! You never know who in your circle might be the experienced dog person he's been waiting for. One share could help connect Beau with the person who changes his future.

What happens next

  1. Contact Last Chance Animal Rescue using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Last Chance Animal Rescue, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
