Hi, I’m Cali! ❤️ Your Future Best Friend, Just Waiting to Feel Safe!

Hi there! I’m Cali, a 4-year-old pit mix girl looking for a family who will love me for who I am and help me become the bravest version of myself. I might be a little shy when we first meet, but underneath this timid exterior is a sweet, affectionate girl with SO much love to give. I just need a little time to figure out that I’m safe and that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. ❤️

Right now, I’m living in a foster home with kids, another dog, and cats! With proper introductions, I have the potential to fit into a variety of homes. When it comes to canine friends, I prefer the laid-back type. Those super energetic dogs can make me feel a little unsure, so a calmer companion would be more my speed.

I’m also working hard with my foster family and a professional dog trainer! We’re building my confidence, learning healthy ways to handle things that worry me, and helping me navigate unfamiliar situations. I’m making progress, and I need my future family to keep cheering me on!

Now, I want to be honest about something important. I’m a strong girl physically, so I need a confident, capable handler who can provide structure, consistency, and continued training. I’m not looking for someone who expects me to walk into a new home and instantly feel comfortable with everything and everyone. I need someone who understands that trust takes time and that confidence grows one little victory at a time.

Maybe my victories will look like approaching something that once scared me, relaxing around a new person, or choosing to explore instead of backing away. Those might seem like little things to some people, but for a girl like me, they’re HUGE! And I can promise you, celebrating those moments together will make our bond even more special.

My dream family will be patient without pushing me, provide guidance without being harsh, and give me the time and space I need to settle in at my own pace. I don’t need someone to make all my fears disappear overnight. I need someone willing to stand beside me while I learn that I can handle more than I think.

I’ve already shown everyone that I CAN make progress and move beyond my fears. I just need the right people to help me keep going. ❤️
