DAKOTA
American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat) · Adult (2 years 4 months) · Male · Medium · Albuquerque, NM
Notes from Albuquerque Animal Services - Eastside
Dakota is a handsome, athletic young dog who is discovering how wonderful life can be and is blossoming into a playful, affectionate and wonderfully companionable dog. Dakota is equally happy having fun or simply hanging out. He loves toys and is an enthusiastic, athletic ball player, but he's also remarkably polite about it: he'll bring the ball back, drop it at your feet—or put it in your lap—and wait patiently for the next throw. When playtime is over, he's perfectly happy to settle down. He has shown himself to be an easy companion outside the shelter. He travels quietly in the car, walks nicely with occasional mild pulling, and is comfortable meeting people and dogs along the way. He's been perfectly at ease accompanying his person into places such as coffee shops and stores, where he settles quietly at their feet. At home, he enjoys exploring but also settles easily and quietly, staying nearby without demanding attention. He is crate trained, sleeps quietly, and appears to be house trained. Dakota is a friendly, affectionate, fun-loving dog who is increasingly confident in the world around him. He is ready for a home where he can keep discovering how good life can be!
