Notes from Chama Valley Humane Society

Young Trey was part of a litter of five puppies abandoned by a stray mom in a yard in Dulce, NM. We estimate the puppies were about 4-5 weeks old during the first week of September, 2026. The family cared for them the best they could and rehomed one pup, but were in and out of town for several weeks. Around October 8, the pups were taken in by another family in Dulce and were given first DAPP on October 17. This family kept one pup and we took the remaining three into foster on October 18. Trey is the only male of the three and has a little white spot on the back of his neck. All three will be altered on October 26 and ready for adoption a few days later.

Trey is somewhat more secure with a person than exploring too far afield. He likes his food and doesn't want to share, but understandable as they were a bit food deprived for a while. A sweet little tubby guy at the moment!
