Notes from Albuquerque Animal Services - Eastside

Meet Blue Blue is a neutered German Shepherd mix who is ready to find his person! On a recent outing, Blue was calm, easy to leash, and wonderful with people. He happily accepted treats, showed off his sit and down, and appeared comfortable around other dogs. Blue is a gentle, cooperative guy who would thrive in a stable home where he can enjoy a routine, companionship, and plenty of love. As an older dog, he has so much to offer and deserves a loving home for his next chapter. Could Blue be the loyal companion you’ve been looking for? Blue is currently in foster and this is what his foster has to say:'Blue is a sweet and eager adult pup who is in search of a loving and stable long term home. He is wonderful living with a larger adult senior dog and doesn’t show signs of reactivity when walking past other dogs in public spaces. Blue would love to have a house where he can be active going on walks and/or getting a few zooms out in a yard but does well at chilling out and enjoying a long pet session. He is a perfect hiking companion and is enjoying hour long daily walk/hike sessions with his foster home. Blue is fully crate trained and house trained. He knows how to sit, stay, & lay down and is quickly learning ‘kennel’. He’s very eager to learn and please and gently takes treats - though sometimes he gets a little eager and needs to be reminded to be gentle :) He does well eating his food (he loves eating!) Blue is a wonderful boy with a balance of enough energy to keep up with an active lifestyle household but also a soul who appreciates the slow, quiet moments.
