Notes from Albuquerque Animal Services - Westside

Meet Sassy, a 2-year-old Pit Bull mix who came into the shelter with herlittle sidekick, Hazel. The two seemed very bonded, so naturally we wonderedif Sassy needed Hazel to feel comfortable. Well, Sassy would like toofficially announce: `I appreciate my friend, but I've got this!` Sassy is in the shelter's Shy Dog Program, but she's making such greatprogress that she may be ready to graduate soon. Once out in the play yard, she is affectionate, easily handled, and happily bounces around like shejust won the lottery. She also seems friendly with other dogs at the fence, although a meet andgreet is recommended with resident dogs to make sure everyone is a goodmatch. Sassy is proving that she can be confident and happy all on her own. She'ssweet, playful, affectionate, and apparently perfectly capable of making newfriends without needing her original roommate by her side. Hazel may havebeen her first buddy, but Sassy is ready to make YOU her new favorite!
