ATHENA

Meet Athena (A1948493) ??5 years young, all heart. Athena is proof that good things come to those who wait — and this sweetheart has been waiting for her person. She landed at Westside City Shelter through no fault of her own; her previous owner simply couldn't care for her anymore. But Athena hasn't let that dim her sparkle one bit. This girl is the total package: housebroken, an easy rider who loves cruising in the car with the windows down (or up, she's flexible), and a leash-walking pro who'll happily join you for a brisk neighborhood loop or a leisurely sniff-everything stroll. Speaking of walks — they might just be her favorite thing in the world, second only to curling up for some quiet couch time with her favorite human. She's also that rare gem who actually loves bath time — no dodging the tub or shaking soap suds everywhere here. Athena hops right in and makes getting squeaky clean look like a spa day. Affectionate to her core, Athena gives love generously and asks for very little in return. She's the kind of dog who leans into a hug like she's been waiting for it all day, and who's just as happy snoozing at your feet while you read as she is trotting along beside you on an adventure. Athena isn't looking for anything fancy — just a lap to lean on, a leash to walk, and a person to call her own. Could that be you? Come meet Athena at Westside City Shelter — she's ready to go home.
