Notes from Wag On Inn Rescue

This bonded pair is looking for a fresh start together. They are arriving in NJ on 10/10!!

Zeus & Scruffy are a bonded pair. They are littermates and will be 12 years old this December. They were in a very loving home their whole lives. They come with 30 pages of medical records and recent dental and bloodwork. Recently, the home had a baby and found out the child is severely allergic. We promised the family we would keep them together. They are adjusting slowly but surely. Zeus can be a bit dramatic when being handled but if you spend time with them one on one they adjust quicker to new people.

They are long hair senior Chihuahuas and tiny! The world around them has changed dramatically and they will need time to adjust. They seem house trained and kennel trained. They will use puppy pads but don't necessarily need them because they will save their bathroom needs for outside. We know there is a laid back, Chihuahua-loving home out there for them to stay together.

They are neutered, micro-chipped, up to date on vaccines and recently had a dental. Their adoption fee is $500 for the both of them.

Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.

What happens next

  1. Contact Wag On Inn Rescue using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Wag On Inn Rescue, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
