Notes from Burlington County Animal Alliance

Meet Emmitt — The Last of the “E” Litter! Emmitt has been waiting so patiently for his people. His brother Eli has found his forever home, which means this sweet boy is officially the last of his litter still waiting for his happily ever after. Emmitt and his siblings had a rough start to life. They were found abandoned at a county dump site and brought to a shelter before making their way into foster care. When they arrived, they were covered in fleas and ticks and had painful little pustules from ant bites. They needed veterinary care, medications, deworming, good food, and lots of TLC.Thankfully, Emmitt has come a long way! He has gained some much-needed weight, his hair has grown back, and this little guy is bouncing back beautifully. At 14 pounds, Emmitt is the smaller of the two boys, and while he can be a little shy at first, once he warms up, he turns into a BIG cuddle bug. He loves being around people and enjoys playing with the resident dogs in his foster home, who come in all different sizes and are both boys and girls. Emmitt is doing so well with all his puppy lessons! He’s working on potty training, not jumping, sit, and his absolute favorite command: “Yes!” because he knows that means treats are coming! He’s also learning “touch,” which will be a helpful tool as he works on his recall. And his foster mom is especially proud of how well he’s doing with his crate! Emmitt is now sleeping in his crate all night by himself with no accidents and is also doing great with daytime crate naps. Like any young puppy, Emmitt will need a family who is ready to continue working on house training, crate training, socialization, manners, and all the other important puppy stuff. But in return, you’ll get a sweet little guy who is ready to give you all the cuddles, puppy kisses, goofy moments, and unconditional love you could ask for. Emmitt has already been through more than any puppy should. He’s been patient, he’s been resilient, and now he’s just waiting for someone to finally say, “You’re our boy.” Could you be the family Emmitt has been waiting for?
