Notes from Wag On Inn Rescue

***THIS IS A COURTESY POST ONLY*** **WAG ON INN HAS NO FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE OF THIS ANIMAL'S REACTIONS AND CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY BEHAVIORAL OR MEDICAL ISSUES**

Pepper is a 6 yr old lab/Pitt/hound mix who came to NJ 4 years ago from Louisiana as a stray. Pepper is a friendly, sweet girl when meeting strangers outside. In her home, she is shy and takes a few minutes to warm up to unknown people- she would do best in a not too busy home because of this. Pepper loves to snuggle and loves to play with her squeaky toys and rip up her stuffed ones! She can be left alone uncrated and is nondestructive. She knows commands: sit, down, place and has

medium energy. On leash she is excited to meet dogs but would likely do best as an only dog as she tends to guard and steal food and toys from other dogs (not people). Pepper has not been around cats or children. She is ok in the car and at the groomer, and while a bit nervous at the vet, does not need to be muzzled. Pepper loves her walks but will try to chase a squirrel. This sweet girl would be an easy dog and great companion for a mostly quiet home. She is spayed and up to date with vaccines and preventatives and is available for foster or adoption.

Note: Pepper is coming to us through our owner surrender program. They will remain under the care of their owner until they are officially transferred to Wag On Inn to an approved foster or adopter. Pepper is spayed, micro-chipped, and up to date on all vaccines. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home. Her adoption fee is $300.

What happens next

  1. Contact Wag On Inn Rescue using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Wag On Inn Rescue, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
