Notes from Midwest Dog Rescue Network

Raven is just a baby at only 4 months old. She is already 8lbs so we think she will be a larger size mix of a minpin maybe 15-20 lbs. She has the energy and inquisitiveness of a minpin that is for sure. Raven learned a doggie door in a day, she is a smart alert dog. She has not been much of a barker and goes into her kennel at night and when her foster is gone just fine. She has kept her kennel clean so she is learning housetraining. She would love another dog to play with. The resident dog in her foster home is 15 and not at all interested in playing with a puppy no matter how hard she tries. Raven is food motivated and might just jump on you to eat what you have. She will need a home that will work on her training and be able to handle her energy level. We do not know how she is with cats but will probably want to play with them. She does have sharp puppy teeth she might nick you when playing. To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $300 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Our dogs are companion animals that live indoors as part of your family. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs. We do not ship dogs.

What happens next

  1. Contact Midwest Dog Rescue Network using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Midwest Dog Rescue Network, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
