Notes from Rutherford County Animal Control

Meet Rooster! Rooster is around 2.5 years old and weighs approximately 48 pounds! Rooster came to us as a stray almost 300 days ago as a stray that was not getting along with some chickens/roosters, hence his name. Due to Rooster's resentment to livestock, we believe he has a high prey drive, which would make him unlikely to do well with cats or other small animals though he has not been introduced to any cats. Rooster loves his outside play time with the staff here to the point where we have to wait util he's ready to come inside, so a home with a fenced in yard would be best for him. Rooster is already neutered, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines and waiting for his forever family! If you are interested in meeting with Rooster to adopt or to foster, please call us at (828)980-0016 or email us at rutherfordanimalcontrol@heartofthefoothills.org
