Notes from Orange County Animal Services

Hello! I was found as a stray, so not much is known about my history. I'm a cute pup, I'm friendly, and I deserve a great home where people will be kind and patient as a grow and learn the ropes! It has been reported that I try to chase cats, so a home without cats would be best. Check out these tips on training and care for dogs or pups. Insights from my adventure buddies and foster friends:Chase is such a sweetheart. He was a very good boy for the entire sleepover. He was perfect and calm in the car. He enjoyed running around and playing fetch with my 10 year old son. He loves going for walks and sniffing things. In general, he is easy to walk. When very excited or wanting to greet other dogs, he can pull a bit. He never barked once. He didn't beg for food while we ate. When at home, he would relax and sleep on the couch. He was gentle with my son petting him all over. When he's very excited on a walk, he would jump a bit or he would roll on the ground. Sometimes he would try to playfully nip, but it wasn't a lot. I think he would be a great family dog for an older child (10+), just due to his exuberance for life! He seems to be mostly potty trained. He had 2 accidents in the house, but he was in a new place and he was here for 2 nights. I am convinced he is potty trained, but he needs more time on his walks to fully do all of his business. He had a bath in our tub and he did really well! He definitely did not like it, but he took it well and he didn't try to escape or fight it. He can be very playful when meeting new dogs, so I think he would be best in a home with another playful dog, or another dog that can gently remind him to be calmer. Overall, we loved him and I think he would be an amazing pet. The only reason we didn't adopt him is because our older dog wasn't able to tolerate his playfulness.
