Notes from Needy Paws Rescue

Elmo is currently enrolled in the 12-week Puppies 4 Parole program through the Mo Department of Corrections. He will graduate towards the end of November and will be available for adoption at that time. If you are interested in adopting Elmo, please complete an application and the foster parent will contact you.

Do you love a daper, shy, but loving dog? One who can zoom with the best of them? Then Elmo is your guy! Elmo is very slow to warm up and unsure of new people. Once you give him a chance though he is all tail wags, hops, and zoomies.

He is mostly unsure of young children, so he would be best in a home with no kids or older kids.

He’s got a lot of love to give but needs training and patience to get there. In his foster home he’s jokingly called Paul anka. Those Gilmore girl fans understand. Figuring out his quirks is just part of what makes him so fun. I mean look at that face how can you say no?

What happens next

  1. Contact Needy Paws Rescue using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Needy Paws Rescue, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
