Notes from Pet Haven Inc. of MN

Diamond is a 4-month-old German Shepherd mix who is proof that even the toughest beginnings can lead to the sweetest stories. This beautiful tricolor girl had a rough start; she was found at just 3 weeks old with two broken bones in her rear left leg. But Diamond is a survivor, and she has worked incredibly hard to heal, learn, and discover just how wonderful life can be. Now around 25 pounds, Diamond is a happy, affectionate puppy who loves being part of the action. Her favorite things include exploring, going for walks, playing with squeaky toys and tug ropes, chewing on natural chews, and sharing affection with both her human and canine family members. This girl is smart and eager to learn! Diamond is crate and pen trained. She willingly goes into her crate, eats her meals in there, and sleeps there, too. Diamond is also making great progress with house training. Like many young puppies, she still needs frequent potty breaks and supervision. Diamond's leg injury has healed. She has made wonderful progress strengthening her muscles and improving flexibility, stability, and coordination. Watching her gain confidence and the physical ability to run around the yard has been incredibly rewarding. Diamond loves communicating with her people through check-ins and the occasional chat, although her vocal cues have been decreasing as she matures. With a voice that can carry, she wouldn't be a good fit for a home with shared walls, such as an apartment or townhouse. Diamond would love an active family who wants an active puppy. A fenced yard would be beneficial, as she enjoys the freedom to explore, play, and run with her newfound strength and coordination. She may have been knocked off course early in life, but Diamond didn't let that stop her. She's playful, affectionate, determined, and full of personality.
