Meet Petey!

Little sweet Petey is looking for his forever home! This tiny little goofball is full of personality, curiosity, and love, and he definitely wants to be the center of attention.

Petey starts his mornings with zoomies and excited little squeals, ready to take on the day! He’s an energetic explorer who loves running around, sniffing everything, and investigating anything that catches his interest. He’ll even stand up and reach for things that pique his curiosity. And when he’s ready for a different perspective, Petey loves being held and exploring the world from your vantage point.

Outside, Petey loves to prance around and is quickly learning how much fun leash walks can be. He also enjoys chewing on bones and chew toys, so having some fun, appropriate things for him to gnaw on will make him very happy.

Petey can be fearful of men and may need a little extra patience and reassurance as he builds trust. He initially approached people cautiously, but he very quickly opened up to us. Once he feels safe, Petey shows just how much affection he has to give. He loves to cuddle, be held, and soak up attention from his favorite people.

Petey is a sweet, silly, affectionate little guy who is ready to find someone who will give him the patience, love, and security he deserves. In return, he’ll give you plenty of cuddles, goofy moments, zoomies, and unconditional love. ❤️

Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.
