Notes from Macomb County Animal Shelter and Animal Control

MEET MYA — A SWEET GIRL WITH A WHOLE WORLD LEFT TO DISCOVER!At 3 years old, Mya is finally learning what it means to just be a dog, and she's doing a pretty great job! Mya spent most of her life outdoors before being found at an abandoned home in pretty rough conditions. Despite her past, this girl is incredibly sweet, gentle, and about as low-key as they come! She can be a little shy at first, but give her a minute and you'll discover what a love bug she really is. And can we talk about her leash manners?! Mya might just be the BEST leash walker at MCAC! She loves getting out, exploring, and taking in the world around her. There are so many things she hasn't experienced yet, and we'd love for someone to show her just how wonderful life can be. A few more things to love about Mya:She LOVES other dogs and enjoys having canine friends to play with! She's food motivated and learning her basic commands. She's a calm, easygoing girl who would be perfectly happy with a comfy bed, good snacks, and someone to love. Cats may be possible with slow, supervised introductions. Now, a little about her medical needs. Mya is heartworm positive and currently undergoing treatment. But don't let that scare you away! Macomb County Animal Control will continue to financially support her heartworm treatment, and our team will help guide her adopter through the process. AND THE BEST PART? MYA'S ADOPTION FEE IS FULLY SPONSORED!Mya isn't asking for much. Just a soft place to land, a little patience, and someone willing to give her the life she's always deserved. She's spent enough time on the outside looking in. It's time for Mya to be someone's dog. Come meet this sweet girl at Macomb County Animal Control!21777 Dunham Rd., Clinton TownshipWalk-in adoption hours: Monday–Friday, 10 AM–4 PM
