Notes from New England Labrador Retriever Rescue

Cricket is a beautiful white—or very light yellow—Lab mix who has quickly won the hearts of everyone who meets her.

She is currently being fostered by one of the veterinarians at Dr. Reid Barrett’s hospital, so she couldn’t be in better hands while she begins her journey toward becoming healthy and ready for her new life.

Cricket came into the shelter terribly emaciated. The first photo shows just how thin she was when she arrived. Thankfully, those days are behind her. She is eating well, being loved and cared for, and is already getting a little chubby! ❤️. She is 46 pounds now.

Cricket is heartworm positive, so her recovery will take some time—at least six weeks as she goes through treatment and gets medically cleared. Her veterinary care has just begun, and we will share more information about her as we receive it.

For now, the most important thing to know about Cricket is this:

Everyone loves her. 🥰

She is safe, she is gaining weight, and she is finally receiving the care she deserves.

We can’t wait to watch this beautiful girl continue to blossom and eventually make her way to New England for the wonderful life waiting ahead of her.
