Notes from A Home of Their Own Animal Rescue

Hi, I’m Stassi! Within ten minutes of walking into my foster home, I was already curled up snuggling—my foster mom says I’m by far the cuddliest dog she’s ever met! I’m a 3-year-old black and white Lab/Terrier mix, and at 35 pounds, I’m a great compact size for squeezing onto the couch right next to you. Back at the shelter, the staff always called me "the perfect dog" because I’m so easygoing. I love people, do great with kids, walk nicely on a leash, and I'm already housetrained. I’ve even gone out to busy adoption events and did great in public! I originally came into the shelter with another dog and really enjoy having dog friends around. Whether the other dog wants to run around and play or just lounge on the floor, I’m happy to match their energy. I’m spayed, microchipped, and caught up on all my vaccines. If you want a total lovebug who will make your family very happy, come meet me!

What happens next

  1. Contact A Home of Their Own Animal Rescue using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to A Home of Their Own Animal Rescue, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
