Notes from A Home of Their Own Animal Rescue
Hi, I’m Hector! The shelter was way too loud and chaotic for a 15-pound guy like me, and I completely shut down in my kennel at first. Getting into a foster home made all the difference—once I realized I was in a safe, predictable spot, I really opened up. I’m a 2-year-old Chihuahua mix with big bat ears and a sensitive, tender heart. I can be shy with new things, but once I know you’re safe, I am deeply affectionate and love curling up right next to my person. I live with another small dog in my foster home and do great with them, so having a calm canine buddy around is very comforting to me. Loud noises and sudden bangs still scare me quite a bit, so I look directly to my humans to be my safe harbor when the world gets noisy. I’m already neutered, microchipped, up to date on all my vaccines. If you have a calm household and patience to let a sensitive little guy settle in, I'm ready to be your most loyal shadow.
